Zac Lloyd piloted Lady Of Camelot to a trial victory at Randwick on Monday, with connections potentially eyeing him for the ride in next month’s Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley.

The Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) runner-up led her star-studded trial by 1.3 lengths over Giga Kick, leaving Lloyd impressed.

“That was my first time sitting on her back, and she’s obviously a very good filly,” the jockey told Racing.com.

“She gave me a great, great feel and trialled really well. I was instructed to give her a nice hit-out, so I jumped, let her flow to the front, and built up the straight. And I thought she did her work very well.”

Co-trainer Adrian Bott was at the track to observe the Slipper-winning filly and was equally pleased.

“She looked sharp,” Bott said.

“She took the improvement that we wanted to see. They ran good time. There seemed a bit of depth to the trial as well, which helps give you a bit of validation to the performance.

“Zac was on there to get a feel for the Moir, and at this stage, that’s where we’re on track to go.

“She’s won a Group 1 race, so the chance to do something at weight-for-age is always another valuable addition for her.

“The 1000 metres should suit, and everything we’re doing is also with a potential Everest in mind.”

Lady Of Camelot is currently a $6 winning chance with horse racing bookmakers for the Moir Stakes on September 7.
