“Wow factor’ and ‘X-factor’ are fitting depictions for Friday night’s Premier Racing at Sandown Park – comprising heats of a Group 1 double-header.
And the superlatives refer to three young stars of the sport – one almost a racing millionaire.
Wow She’s Fast has only raced 14 times for nine wins, including the inaugural $750,000 to-the-winner TAB Phoenix and $150,000 to-the-winner G3 Launching Pad.
She has won seven from nine over 515m, with a 28.93sec PB, at Sandown Park. It’s the fourth fastest time there on record.
How’s that for wow-factor!
And now she’s out to retain her crown – literally! – as Victoria’s sprinting queen.
Trained at Pearcedale by ‘Team Greenough’, Wow She’s Fast (Box 2) lines up in a female-only Sapphire Crown heat (515m).
Wow She’s Fast is TAB’s ‘All In’ $3.00F, ahead of Idolize ($4.50) and Immunity ($8.00), for the $100,000 to-the-winner series.
She’s engaged in Heat 1 (Race 8, 9.31pm), for which she’s a raging hot $1.22F.
“It’s a complete mystery… I’ve got no idea, but she just didn’t go.”
Late last month, Wow She’s Fast (Feb ’20 My Bro Fabio x Fair Of Face) launched an unsuccessful Million Dollar Chase campaign at Wentworth Park in Sydney.
She was second in a MDC ‘city qualifier’ before finishing eighth to Victorian counterpart Photo Man in a MDC semi-final.
“It’s a complete mystery,” Kel Greenough said. “I’ve got no idea, but she just didn’t go.
“Normally, I can pick up a problem within one length. But I can’t give you an answer that makes any sense.

“I checked her for injuries, and a blood test revealed no abnormalities.”
Greenough added Wow She’s Fast had “trialled terrific since”.
“The trial was quicker than she’s ever gone. She clocked 24.42sec post-to-post at The Meadows and, if you ask anyone around, they don’t go any quicker.”
Greenough is also buoyant about Wow She’s Fast having drawn the ‘check’ alley.

“I don’t know anybody that would like to draw six, seven or eight at Sandown.
“I’m happy to draw down near the rail, so there’s no complaints.”
Meanwhile, on Friday night, the X-factor is provided by Amron Boy and Big Opal Rocks in the males-only Harrison-Dawson heats (515m).
They are the top two elects for the $100,000 to-the-winner series – Amron Boy ($4.20) and Big Opal Rocks ($5.00).
WATCH: WOW SHE’S FAST (7) clocks a scintillating 28.93sec victory in the G3 Launching Pad at Sandown Park on April 14.
Amazingly, they will meet in Heat 4 (Race 6, 8.49pm). Amron Boy is $1.95F and Big Opal Rocks is $3.50.
Prepared at Lara by Brooke Ennis, Amron Boy (Box 2) has won seven races from 11 starts. He’s five from seven on this track/distance with a 29.07sec PB.
Big Opal Rocks (Box 3), trained at Devon Meadows by Mario Briganti, has won seven races from 12 starts. He’s two from four on this track/distance with a 29.02sec PB.
Pawnote: ‘Team Greenough’ also has the following Sapphire Crown aspirants: She’s Refined (R10 B4) – 10.15pm; Levitation (R11 B7) – 10.40pm; Little Bit Sleek (R12 B6) – 10.57pm.
