An enforced layoff has Tim Williams itching to get back out on the track at Addington on Friday night.
And with the quality of drives he will combine with, there’s no wondering why.
Williams links up with a strong line up headed by Heisenberg in Friday night’s feature pace.
The pacer was nabbed late by his stablemate Sams Town in a good last start second placing, but this time he meets the winner 10m better off.
Williams hopes Heisenberg can bring his usually excellent manners to make full use of that handicap advantage.
“He has got great manners and being off the front is going to be a big advantage,” the reinsman said.
“It took the length of the straight for Sams Town to run him down last time, it was a good run.”
“He’s racing really well at the moment, hopefully his manners are to the fore again and he give them something to chase.”
Williams reunites with the Stonewall Stud team on Friday night which includes Medina Magic.
The three-year-old comes into race 3 on the back of a second placing behind the smart Fortify.
“He was obviously beaten by a smart one last time – he sprinted up pretty well to get past the rest of them.”
“From a reasonable draw you’d think he would be thereabouts.”
Williams combines with Cya Art who also comes into race 5 on the back of a tidy placing.
“The back-up will suit him, he’s got better as he has come along – he was a long time off the scene,”
“You couldn’t fault his fresh up run, but in saying that it is a nice field that he has to race this week.”
The Telfer-Cullen trained Miki Bennett comes into race 9 following an unlucky last start seventh.
The pacer copped a check early, but ran on solidly afterwards.
“It wasn’t ideal copping that check but hopefully we will see a bit more ringcraft from him this week after that.”
“He is drawn awkwardly enough but he is a horse you can follow.”
“He has got a good amount of ability, but he just has to get a bit more ringcraft yet.”
Williams has picked up a couple of catch drives in his return to the sulky.
Mo’unga looks a serious threat for the reinsman in race 2.
“He looks a lovely horse, I have trialled against him a few times.”
“He looks a great drive to pick up.”
Williams will also drive Majestic Lavros in Friday night’s feature trot.
The Derek and Adele Jones trained squaregaiter has trialled twice ahead of his return to racing.
