Who won the 2022 Melbourne Cup?

Having won just one race in his 15 career starts, the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Gold Trip bought up his second win on the grandest stage of them all, the Melbourne Cup.

Having jumped at around $20 with most bookies, the five-year-old was aided by a peach of a steer from Mark Zahra and once he hit the front in the home straight, he hardly looked like getting gunned down.

Geelong Cup winner Emissary and Bendigo Cup winner High Omecean filled the minor placings, whilst race favourite Deauville Legend finished fourth.
