The Wenona Girl Quality is a Group 3 race for mares aged four and older, run over 1200m under quality handicap conditions at Randwick.
Introduced in 2006, the Wenona Girl Quality was upgraded from Listed to Group 3 status in 2014.
The race is named after champion mare Wenona Girl, a Hall of Fame inductee who won 27 races in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
The 2024 Wenona Girl Quality, worth $250,000, was won by Tintookie, defeating C’Est Magique and Wee Nessy.
Notable past winners include Beaded, Ofcourseican, Arinosa, A Time For Julia, Griante, and Fasika.
Ofcourseican (2011) later won the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m), while Griante (2015) went on to claim the Group 1 Galaxy (1100m).

Brad Widdup and Kerrin McEvoy combined with Tintookie ($4.40) to secure victory in the 2025 Group 3 Weona Girl Quality (1200m). The daughter of Winning Rupert had put together a consistent preparation so far, finding the frame in three of her four starts, finally getting the opportunity to add black-type racing to her resume. She was given a perfect steer by Kerrin McEvoy as he landed her in the one-one position throughout the contest, relishing the strong tempo supplied by Byron Belle ($101.00) and Eagle Nest ($13.00) in the early stages. It allowed McEvoy to get the ideal run in transit, while the likes of C’est Magique ($7.00), Wee Nessy ($9.50) and Rainbiel ($7.50) were left chasing a long way from home, unable to cut into the margin as Tintookie bolted clear with the prize.

Jump The Broom may have finished first past the post; however, with plenty of interference with 100m to go, it was Jal Lei who took out the 2023 Wenona Girl Quality. The leader throughout the 1200m contest, Jump The Broom, veered off his running line under Zac Lloyd and caused significant interference on the originally third placed Tycoon Evie, almost causing Zac Purton to be dislodged. In the process of trying to regain control of his mount, Purton unintentionally caused Jal Lei to swerve off his racing line as well. The race results finished with Jal Lei finishing in first position, Tycoon Evie moving into second, with Jump The Broom demoted into third position.

Bjorn Baker had been making a habit of winning the final race in Sydney and he did it again with Belluci Babe in the 2022 Wenona Girl Quality. Baker’s mare dominated throughout to defeat Tricky Gal by 2.5 lengths with Never Talk ($3.50) closing late another half-neck away. The winner of six races, Belluci Babe had been a model of consistency and thoroughly deserved her Group Three breakthrough after being Group placed on multiple occasions including at her previous start when a narrow second to Expat in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes (1300m).
