The track is currently rated a Soft 5, while the rail is out 5m from the 1000m to the winning post and then out 3m for the remainder of the course. The field for the first race of the day is scheduled to face the starter at 2:20pm AEDT.

Best Bet at Warwick Farm – Rise Of The Masses

We aren’t usually too keen on the idea of making a race-day debutant our best bet, let alone a two-year-old, but every horse in Wednesday’s opener is lining up for the first time and we have seen enough from Rise Of The Masses at the trials to back him in here. The colt by Russian Revolution has trialled twice, running second in his first trial and then winning his second by 2.5 lengths. On November 11 in his first trial, he finished four lengths behind Athletica, who has since come out and won on debut. Rise Of The Masses is out of the mare Ruud Awakening, who won five of her first six starts in New Zealand, including the Karaka Millions and the Group 1 Diamond Stakes, before beating only one runner home in the 2013 Golden Slipper. Both sire and dam were early-running two-year-olds, so we will not be surprised to see this Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott prospect win in style on debut. Tim Clark can get him to relax out in front from barrier seven, and the pair will be hard to catch.

Next Best at Warwick Farm – Dynasties

Peter & Paul Snowden combine with Kerrin McEvoy and Dynasties in the opening leg of the quaddie, where we are confident she can beat the undefeated favourite, Niffler. This three-year-old filly by Sebring won ultra-convincingly on debut at Newcastle back in May, recording a three-length victory over Indiana Falls, before having some time off over the winter to ready her for the summer. In both runs back, Dynasties has closed off well from the back to run second, failing to get past the promising Harvey’s Way first-up and then finding all-the-way leader Nothinsweetaboutme too hard to run down second-up at Rosehill over 1500m. The stable have elected to step her out in trip again to 1600m, which she is going to eat up, while the blinkers go on for the first time on Wednesday, which should sharpen her up and have her settle a bit closer in the run, and that should be no issue from barrier four. There has been some early money for this filly and we expect it to keep coming.

Best Value at Warwick Farm – Lepreezy

In the final event of the day, Annabel Neasham unveils a new runner in her stable, a five-year-old mare by Better Than Ready called Lepreezy. She was formerly trained by Angela Stevens at Rockhampton and won seven races at that track, beating iron horse Master Jamie twice over 1050m. This nine-time winner will have to work early from barrier 11, but she only knows one way and that is to be fast and lead, so providing Hugh Bowman does his research, she should be making her own luck in front and could easily be lengths better since joining the Neasham yard. First-up, Lepreezy contested a very competitive No Metro Wins race at the Sunshine Coast where she didn’t lead and finished fifth behind a few smart ones, so we don’t think this Benchmark 72 is going to be too difficult for her. With some added fitness under her belt and over the 1000m once again, she could take some serious running down. She is a fast horse and should be suited to Warwick Farm.
