Best Bet at Warwick Farm – The Milkybar Kid
Call us a genius, but we made The Milkybar Kid our best bet when he won last start at $1.05. Scratchings saw just two horses race over 2140m at this track on July 13 – The Milkybar Kid and Naval Warfare – and it was never likely that The Milkybar Kid wouldn’t justify his Winx-like odds. At this stage, there are 10 opponents for the Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott-trained three-year-old, who is looking to make it four-straight wins. The son of Reliable Man will go forward and lead under Brenton Avdulla from barrier seven and he should take plenty of beating once again.

Next Best at Warwick Farm – Flower Moon
There aren’t too many jockeys that you would rather back on rain-affected racetracks than Jason Collett. From 191 rides on heavy tracks in the 2021/22 season, Collett has booted home 37 wins at almost 20%, so it pays to follow him in this type of going. Flower Moon makes up for two of those wins, saluting on a Heavy 9 at Goulburn in May under Collett, before returning to the winner’s stall last start on a Heavy 10 at Goulburn, with Collett again in the saddle. The Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained filly gets her favoured Heavy 10 track on Wednesday, she can get out to the middle of the track from barrier nine and make it back-to-back victories.

Warwick Farm Best Value – Nolan
Nolan was one horse we were keen to be with a week ago, but John O’Shea opted to scratch the two-year-old and wait another day. Whether or not the Heavy 10 track on Wednesday will force his hand once again and scratch remains to be seen, but we have enough reasoning to suggest he will handle it if he runs. The colt by Caravaggio ran second to the talented Troach on debut before running midfield at Canterbury and in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes, with the latter being on a Heavy 10. O’Shea then took him to the Group 3 Black Opal at Canberra where he ran well without a whole lot of luck as a $20 chance with Palmerbet on a Soft 5. In his only trial back, he was given a good hit out and won the trial which would have built his confidence in search of a maiden win. Nash Rawiller is a positive booking from the sticky barrier.
