Racing heads to Warwick Farm on Wednesday afternoon for a competitive seven-race program commencing at 2:20pm. The rail is out +5m for the final 1000m of the course to the winning post and remains in the true position the remainder. The track is currently listed as a Soft 5 and, if anything, we may be looking at a downgrade in conditions as there is some rain expected over the coming days.
Best Bet: Divots
Our best bet of the afternoon comes in the third race of the program at Warwick Farm, as Divots has her chance to salute second-up. Her debut was a little disappointing on January 6; however, she had plenty of excuses. It was a very heavy track that evening at Canterbury and she sat three-wide throughout the 1100m contest spelling a quick end to her chances. Her trials prior to her debut were outstanding and she again has trialled since in stylish fashion. With the likelihood of a soft track on Wednesday and a change of tactics, we feel Divots can replicate her trial form to the track this time. The Hawkes team will give instructions to Jason Collett to lead from the inside draw, and if he does elect to lead on this daughter of Zoustar, they won’t be catching her. She’s got sustained speed which she couldn’t show last time out, and if we see her best on Wednesday, it’ll be all over.

Next Best: Introducing
We’ve only seen one trial out of this colt form the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott yard, but we’ve seen enough from Introducing to make him a bet on Wednesday afternoon. The son of Trapeze Artist chased home stablemate Platinum Jubilee on February 6 at Randwick and did it under minimal riding from Prebble to score in the trial. You can tie Platinum Jubilee’s form through some of the best two-year-olds in NSW and genuine contenders for the Golden Slipper. The fact Introducing chased home Platinum Jubilee the way he did, only suggest he’ll improve heading to the races on Wednesday. From barrier two look for Brett Prebble to lead throughout the 1000m and score nicely despite some nice types on debut alongside him. Helldancer and Big Demeanor both stepped out well in their respective trials, but we think Introducing may already be close to the finished article.

Next Best Again: Tip Of The Spear
Tip Of The Spear is a French import for the Annabel Neasham yard and should be going close in his third Australian start. His latest effort at Rosehill on January 28 was a solid hitout over 2000m in a BM78 behind Thalassophile and couldn’t win from his position in the run. Regan Bayliss went back and was unable to make up the ground on that occasion; however, on Wednesday with a step up to the 2400m and coming back into BM72 company, we should see the best of this five-year-old gelding. James McDonald takes the reins and should try to get this son of Epaulette to ping the lids and sit just in behind the leaders before showing his electrifying turn-of-foot late to get his first Australian win on the board. He looks a pure stayer and the 2400m seems ideal.
