When Tuesday, September 20, 2022
First Race 1:30pm AEST

Racing heads to Warracknabeal Racecourse for the first time since April 30 where an eight-race card is scheduled on Tuesday afternoon. With the short home straight, the track often favours those closer to the speed, but considering the track is rated a Heavy 10, with the rail in the true position, horses with fitness on their side may be the ones to side with. The first race is set to jump at 1:30pm AEST and here are our free Warracknabeal racing tips.

This meeting was originally scheduled for Horsham and has been transferred to Warracknabeal.

Warracknabeal BEST BET: Justdoit

The Luke Oliver-trained Justdoit finished midfield in a BM64 at Mornington on September 2 in Heavy 9 conditions, but we anticipate the step back into BM58 will help this mare find her way back to the winner’s stall. She chased home La Zucca on that day, who wasn’t disgraced at Caulfield on Saturday and finished two-lengths off Rolling Moss who subsequently ran a nice second at Geelong on September 16. Prior to that Mornington effort, she won her maiden by six-lengths in dominant fashion on a Heavy 10 at Cranbourne and with similar conditions on Tuesday, she is sure to handle what is in front of her at Warracknabeal. From barrier two, Daniel Stackhouse will look to edge her off the rail almost immediately. If he is afford that luxury, this girl has a strong turn of foot and in clear air, should prove too hard to hold out over 1400m.

NEXT BEST AT Warracknabeal: Come Along Jeffrey

Come Along Jeffrey is racing in career best form having won two of his last three starts and has not finished worse than third in four runs this time in. We expect that impressive form to continue when he steps out in the third leg of the quaddie on Tuesday. The five-year-old gelding was aided by a gun run in transit at Wodonga on September 5 and despite needing to lug 61.5kg, managed to launch late to get the bob in on the line. Following Maddie Price’s 4kg claim, he goes around with 59.5kg in a race that is no harder than what he won last time out. He has a win and two minor placings on heavy ground and with $3.20 on offer from online bookmakers, Come Along Jeffrey simply looks too good for this lot.

Warracknabeal VALUE BET: Trust In Rose

We will be looking to round out the day on a winning note when the Luke Oliver-trained Trust In Rose looks to bounce back from a poor showing at Wodonga. The five-year-old mare was below her best following a convincing maiden victory the start prior at Cranbourne, but we anticipate she will bounce back in emphatic fashion on Tuesday. She chased home Come Along Jeffrey last time out (who we fancy earlier in previous race), but it was her win on a Heavy 10 on August 17 that has us keen to play. She managed to build through the gears nicely on that occasion and managed to put just over a length on her rivals to show she loves the slop. If it is a day where the track plays fairly, the $9.50 on offer with some online betting sites about Trust In Rose in the last looks a great price to take on.
