With a full field of 16 runners expected to go around in the Group 3 Premier’s Cup (ATC) at Randwick this Saturday, Chris Waller and Annabel Neasham dominate the field with nine of the runners hailing from the two stables.
Neasham has accepted with a few of her European imports, with the progressive Fawkner Park leading the pack after finishing second in the Premier’s Cup Prelude two weeks ago at Rosehill.
Fancy Man and Gear Up will return for their second Australian racing preparation after running during the Sydney Autumn Carnival earlier this year, while the top-rated runner in the race, King Frankel, will also make his return.
Of the four Waller runners, Ipswich Cup and Winter Cup runner-up Desert Icon leads the contingent and will link up with top hoop James McDonald for his first-up start.
Brazilian import Iene Fortune will have his third start for the Waller stable and will be looking to build on his fifth-place finish in the Premier’s Cup Prelude a fortnight ago.
This year’s Sydney Cup favourite, Cleveland, will have his first run for Kris Lees after he was transferred from Joseph O’Brien.
Point Nepean will have his second run for Ben, Will & JD Hayes as he looks to recapture the form that led to victory in the Andrew Ramsden in May last year.
