The Sylvester Doyle Puppy Championship headlines the ten-event card at Lang Lang tomorrow and Ashlee Terry finds herself with two promising contenders in Jack Of Hearts and Bodhi’s Bro Kai.
“Both have pulled up really well from last week,” Ashlee said of their first-round efforts last weekend.
“They are very different in the way they course. Bodhi is running very good to the mark and running some nice times. His first two courses are his best so hopefully he can be competitive.”
“It also helps that he is very relaxed and sleeps in between courses.”
At the start of the month, Bodhi’s Bro Kai claimed the Big Bash Wilcocks Puppy Mixed at Longwood. He is also well performed on the circle having won eight of his 18 career starts.
Terry’s second contender Jack Of Hearts is the first greyhound from the National Greyhound Draft to enter the coursing circuit and he couldn’t find himself in better hands than a Waterloo Cup winning trainer.
“Jack hadn’t been to Lang Lang before or out of the slips, so it was very different for him, but by the third course he had run his best time. His run home times are very good, but he just gives away a bit of a start so will need a lot of luck.”
“He also gets a bit worked up between courses so hopefully we can keep him calm because the longer he stays in, the better I expect him to go.”
The Sylvester Doyle Puppy Championship is Event 1 on the card, with the winner taking home $3,765.
