Two jockeys suspended at Sunshine Coast

Boris Thornton has been suspended for careless riding in his biggest win on Scallopini.

Jockeys Brad Stewart and Boris Thornton were the stars at the Sunshine Coast but they have both been sidelined for winning rides.

Stewart made the most of some late engagements on Saturday at the expense of Ryan Maloney, who was ill, with a treble.

He won on Sunny St Cloud, Grey Missile and Better Reflection.

Stewart was suspended for nine days for his ride on Grey Missile when stewards found him guilty of causing interference to All Eez approaching the 900m.

Thornton claimed his biggest win when he rode Scallopini to victory in the Listed Sunshine Coast Cup.

But he was also suspended for nine days after stewards found Scallopini caused Crack Me Up to be checked at the 700m.

Apprentice Alex Patis was also outed for eight days for causing interference on Machu Pichu at the 200m in the Benchmark 70 Handicap.
