Country racing heads to the mid-north coast of NSW on Friday afternoon, with the Tuncurry-Forster Jockey Club playing host to a competitive eight-part program. The rail is in the true position the entire circuit, and although the track is rated a Good 4 at the time of acceptances, so light rainfall in the lead-up could mean a minor downgrade into the Soft range for race-day. The opening event is scheduled to get underway at 12:39pm local time.
Best Bet at Tuncurry: Highly Tempted
Highly Tempted broke his maiden in dominant fashion two starts back at Taree on August 16 before being thrown into a testing Class 1 at Newcastle. He ran into Snow In May on that occasion, and despite being no match for the undefeated filly, the Tony Ball-trained gelding never shirked the task to land in the minor money. He steps up to the 1400m for the first time, and with this Class lacking depth compared to his most recent outing, punters can expect Highly Tempted to return to winning ways.

Although Jack Duggan is yet to bother the judge in four starts this campaign, the seven-year-old gelding is airborne heading into start five. The son of Jack Milton couldn’t have been more impressive in metro company, storming home over 1800m at Rosehill on August 31. He was beaten 3.7 lengths on that occasion but was off the track the entire home straight, and with barrier four allowing Christian Reith to take closer order stepping up to 2100m, watch for Jack Duggan to career over the top to claim victory this time around.

Best Value at Tuncurry: Get Some Fun
Get Some Fun debuts on the back of two strong barrier trials, with her latest piece of work at Port Macquarie particularly catching the eye. The Karen Owen-trained filly cruised through the wire under her own steam, closing to within a half-length of Bold Bender. Madeline Owen should be finding the one-one from barrier four aboard the debutant, and provided she can navigate into the clear in the home straight, Get Some Fun should prove hard to hold out.
