HorseBetting’s horse racing analyst presents his best bets and quaddie tips for the eight-race meeting at Wyong this Tuesday, which is scheduled to begin at 12:15pm AEST. The rail is out 4m from the 1350m to the 1000m chute, where the track is a Heavy 8, before it goes into the 3m position for the remainder of the course, which is rated a Soft 6.
Best Bet at Wyong – Fire And Ice
Fresh off a winning treble in the saddle at Rosehill Gardens on Sunday, Hugh Bowman will be looking to continue that form at Wyong on Tuesday. In the opening leg of the quaddie, Bowman hops aboard the Mark Minervini-trained colt Fire And Ice, who is kicking off his second racing preparation. The son of Hellbent didn’t place in either of his first three race starts, but he wasn’t beaten all that far in the $2 million Inglis Millennium (1100m) behind the likes of Paris Dior and Sejardan. The two-year-old was impressive when winning a recent barrier trial at Randwick, so we are expecting him to take that form to the races and use the inside rail to his advantage.

Next Best at Wyong – Verzenay
Verzenay has been a bit of the bridesmaid so far in her career, finishing second in three of her six starts. The three-year-old filly by All Too Hard comes into Tuesday’s assignment third-up for the preparation and looks mighty hard to beat. Trained by Brad Widdup, Verzenay has handy form around the likes of Queensland Derby sixth-placegetter Ting Tong, as well as the consistent Fielding upon resumption on June 16. From barrier four, Jean Van Overmeire will put the filly up on the speed and give her every chance to break her maiden status.
Next Best
Race 4 – #6 Verzenay (4)
3yo Filly | T: Brad Widdup | J: Jean Van Overmeire (56.5kg)

Best Value Bet at Wyong – Party Stop
Stephen Farley and William Pike combine in the second race of the afternoon with three-year-old gelding Party Stop. The son of All Too Hard wasn’t beaten all that far at Gosford last start over the mile, chasing home Elegant Poetess. Pike was in the saddle on that occasion, so it is a positive to see the Group 1 jockey retain the ride on Tuesday in a fairly weak 3YO Maiden Handicap. Party Stop stays at 1600m, but he drops 4kg to 54kg, which should be a big aid. Barrier four gives Pike plenty of options, but we expect to see him race in the first half of the field before looking to get away on the bend.
Best Value
Race 2 – #7 Party Stop (4)
3yo Gelding | T: Stephen Farley | J: William Pike (54kg)
