Classy trotters are the order of the week for driver Mark Hurrell.
The junior will continue his association with Only One Way who looks well placed in race 8 at the Riverton meeting at Winton on Thursday.
After a big win on Diamonds Day at Ascot Park, the Kirstin Barclay trained six-year-old then ran a gritty fourth at Addington.
That looks like outstanding form to bring to Winton.
“It looks a pretty good race for him, he hasn’t had many mobiles which is probably one concern, but on form and ability he is probably the best horse in there,” Hurrell said.
“If he does everything right I would say that he would be pretty hard to beat.”
Hurrell also combines with Wrecking Ball in race 9.
The Alex Milne trained pacer gained a deserved win in his last visit to Winton and should be competitive again on Thursday.
“He went good last time, he has gone up in grade a wee bit but he looks like he has got a bit of ticker there.”
“It is not a bad field, but I would say he is an each way chance.”
The Matthew Williamson trained Winning Bones is also among Hurrell’s drives.
The trotter looks like he would be competitive in race 5 on his best form.
“His form couple starts back was good, running a couple of placings.”
“It is probably not a bad race for him, it is a drop in grade a wee bit.”
“So, he is probably not a bad eachway chance, either.”
Fully Charged debuts for Hurrell in race 4 on the back of decent trial form.
“It is always hard starting off in the top-rated maiden but hopefully he goes a nice race first up.”
Tisbury Rocks looks one of the best of Hurrell’s remaining drives.
The mare goes into race 6 on the back of a workout win at Winton last week.
Hurrell also combines with Chogi in race 3, Better Galleon in race 7 and Sagwitch in race 10.
The junior driver heads off to Addington on Friday night to combine with Smokin Bandar.
Following a good second to Mataderos last weekend, the trotter looks hard to beat.
“It is a bit of a shame he ended up drawing the second row because he has got high gate speed,” Hurrell said.
“But he will get his chance hopefully being the only one off the second row.”
“His run behind Mataderos last week was massive, so all he needs is an ounce of luck and he would be the hardest one in that to beat, I hope.”
Hurrell also combines with Betterwithbling who looks an eachway threat in race 8 at Addington.
