Recent Tristarc Stakes winners

  • Chain Of Lightning ($5.50) dominated her rivals in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes over 1400m as she returns to winning ways after her undefeated run was ended last start. Chain Of Lightning beat home Palaisipan and Pride Of Jenni to give Luke Nolen and Peter Moody another win as a pairing in the Tristarc Stakes, after Typhoon Tracy’s win in 2009. Chain Of Lightning took her record to six wins from seven starts, showing that this mare is well above average and this could be the first of many Group race victory for classy mare.
  • Having had a delayed start to her spring, Godolphin’s Colette was a class above her rivals in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes. Despite settling at the rear of the field under Damian Lane, once the former Golden Eagle winner was asked to quicken, Colette put her rivals to the sword to record yet another Stakes win in her already gliterring career. Colette would go on to put a length on Steinem and Aidensfield in soft fashion late on.
  • The Chris Waller-trained Madam Rouge bounced back to form when saluting in the Tristarc Stakes under Ben Melham. Having already ridden a double on the day, Melham was full of confidence and that showed when the Group 1 winning hoop stuck to the rails as his rivals fanned into the home straight at Caulfield. Following a farcically slow run race, it was always going to come down to who could sprint the best and in a bunched finish across the line, it was Madam Rouge who held off the fast-finishing She Shoo Fly in second, with the leader Felicia back in third.
  • Class prevailed in the 2019 Tristarc Stakes as the James Cummings-trained Savatiano made light of a wide barrier. Having drawn the widest barrier (14), Craig Williams had the mare settled outside the leader with relative ease. In What was a moderately run affair, the race was always going to suit those up on speed and once the heat went on, Savatiano put her rivals to the sword with ease.
