Godolphin has enlisted the talents of British jockey Tom Marquand for their key contenders in Saturday’s feature races.
Marquand, recognised in Australia for his successes with William Haggas, particularly winning three of the last four Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) on Addeybb and Dubai Honour, is set to guide Cascadian in the Group 1 Verry Elleegant Stakes (1600m), Zardozi in the Group 1 Surround Stakes (1400m), and Golden Mile in the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1300m).
“We’ve booked him on a little team of horses. Tom’s had a terrific run when he’s come out here to Australia,” shared Cummings.
“There’s absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t be lining up to book Tom Marquand given we’re interested in having the best available on our horses.”
“He’s very good to work with, he’s ridden for us in the past and we’re fortunate he was available to take the rides we offered.”
“The other piece of the puzzle is he’s happy to work in with us, he popped out and rode a bit of work for us through the week and ridden a few trials.”
