Despite looking like she was struggling 200m out, Tiz Invincible ($4.60) ridden by Zac Lloyd has finished best to claim the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m).

Having claimed The Rosebud (1100m) at Listed level, online bookmakers were happy to take on the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained filly, sending her around as a drifting second favourite.

Following James McDonald’s fall at Wyong on Friday, he was unable to make weight for the ride on Tiz Invincible, with recent Bart Cummings Medal winner Zac Lloyd picking up the steer.

Having travelled in the three wide line with cover, Tiz Invincible was left a touch flat-footed 200m out.

As Cigar Flick kicked clear, Tiz Invincible knuckled down inside the final 100m to claim victory over the fast-finishing pair Kimochi ($4.40) and Mumbai Muse ($11).

Ciaron Maher was on hand post-race and was complimentary of Lloyd’s temperament after picking up the coveted ride late.

“Zac (Lloyd), from a short call-up, rode her very well.

“He has only sat on her once at trackwork but a very cool ride from him, the horse was great.”

“I think she’ll get out to a mile. The best part of her race is usually the last bit, she’s very strong through the line and she’s still coming on.”

Maher all but confirmed that the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) would come next for his filly, with a crack at the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) likely.
