The draw for the IRT Harness Jewels will be held on Friday.
The final qualifying meeting for the $900,000 race day at Cambridge Raceway on Sunday, June 6 was held at Rangiora on Sunday.
Connections have since been contacted to confirm acceptance for their horses. The 12 top horses in each of the nine categories will race on the big day, with the draw, done randomly by computer, on Friday and released soon after.
This week there have been changes to the top of the McMillan Equine Feeds 2YO Emerald and Montana Food and Events 2YO Ruby leaderboards.
Akuta’s dominant win in the Garrard’s Sires’ Stakes 2YO Colts and Geldings Final at Addington on Friday night has seen him go up from sixth to number one in the 2YO Emerald. The win was worth $73,800.
Montana D J, who finished third in the same race, has dropped one spot to second while Franco Indie has been withdrawn and Mossdale Ben is up one vital place, from 13 to 12.
In the 2YO Ruby, Mystic Max goes from three to one after winning Friday’s Lone Star Sires’ Stakes 2YO Trot at Addington on Friday night. Previous leader and race favourite Highgrove broke several times during the race, and finished last. Mr Love goes from 18th to seventh after finishing third in the same race. King City slips out of the top 12, to 13th.
The Garrard’s Horse and Hound 4YO Ruby has seen some big changes in the past week. After winning at Auckland on Friday night Liaison has gone from 26th to 12th, Ultimate Stride is now 10th (was 18th) after his win at Invercargill on Saturday and Alana has improved from 21st to 11th after her win at Cambridge on Thursday. Special Way has been withdrawn, with Kelvinz Luck and Majestic Harry dropping to 13th and 14th.
The Woodlands Stud 4YO Diamond has also seen some movement – Watch Me Now has been withdrawn, Dalness First goes from 26th to 12th, Dress Code is another big mover from 22nd to 10th, with Emmber dropping from 12th to 13th.
The only change in the Mitre 10 3YO Ruby is Jasinova, now at 12, and Paramount Princess dropping down one place to 13th.
In the Hardwood Breeding Syndicate 2YO Diamond American Beauty and Allegra have been withdrawn, with Kaching Kaching and Miki Montana progressing into the top 12, while Bettor Talk Art and Don’t Lie to Me have been withdrawn from the Dunstan Horsefeeds 3YO Diamond, with Cloudy Bay moving to 12th.
Samhara has moved up up five places to eighth in the IRT 3YO Emerald, after his win the Garrard’s Sires Stakes Sophomore Classic on Friday and Yorokobi has dropped from 12th to 13th.
The seventh-placed Belmont Major has been withdrawn in the Civtec 4YO Emerald, with Italian Lad going from 14th to 11th following his big win at Addington on Friday night.
