The Stir Up featuring McInerney, Wow She’s Fast and Plaintiff

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts  Can you believe the Group 1 Sportsbet Melbourne Cup Final is 50 days away, fellas?

Gerard  The countdown is well and truly on, Quilts. If last night’s clash between McInerney and Paddy Wants Pats is a taste of what’s to come, bring on the Melbourne Cup.

Trent  It was an amazing effort by McInerney to reel in Paddy Wants Pats, Gerard. Don’t forget about Baby Jaycee and Kelsey Bale as they were both impressive.

Quilts  Speaking of impressive, Wow She’s Fast lines up in tonight’s Group 1 Adelaide Cup Final. Co-trainer Kel Greenough advised me during the week that she is in tip-top shape.

Gerard  David Geall has in-form chaser Fernando Mick in the final, but he virtually conceded to me that if Wow She’s Fast begins as expected, the rest of the field are running for second.

Trent  The quality greyhound racing for this weekend doesn’t stop there either. There are eight, that’s right, eight outstanding heats of the Group 2 Bendigo Cup on Sunday night.

Quilts  The second heat is an absolute ripper. True Collinda – a runner in The Phoenix last year, Group 2 Warragul Cup winner Robbie Rotten and Zara’s Ivan; a Pink Diamond winner.

Gerard  Steve White expressed to me this week that he’s happy with the defending champion Paua Of Buddy despite setbacks in the past 12 months.

Trent  Quinlan Bale, Silver Brute, the country cups king Ferdinand Boy … I feel bad because there is class in every heat and I’m leaving out well-performed chasers.

Gerard  It could be a great Sunday for Jason Thompson as well. Plaintiff and the Bendigo 425m track record holder Typhoon Sammy join True Collinda in the Bendigo Cup heats, while Unleash Collinda is in the Group 3 Capalaba Cup Final.
