The Stir Up featuring Baby Jaycee, Titan Blazer and Typhoon Sammy

GRV’s Peter Quilty, Gerard Guthrie and Trent Langskaill provide their thoughts on some of the star greyhounds racing in Victoria.

Keep an eye on these, they are worth saving in your WatchDog Blackbook!

Quilts  Gents, did you see the rising star Baby Jaycee at Sandown Park last night? She was gutsy again and she has now won nine of her last 10 starts.

Gerard  I didn’t miss her, Quilts, and I hope you saw Mepunga Warrior in action. He looks primed to go one better in this year’s Group 1 Hume Cup with the heats on October 31.

Trent  Fellas, what an achievement by trainer Ray Henness and his five-year-old I’m Easy Boys. He was victorious for the 30th time at his 139th career start last night.

Quilts  Speaking of experienced greyhounds, good luck to the country cups king Ferdinand Boy as he lines up for the 98th time in this afternoon’s Group 3 Goulburn Cup Final.

Gerard  I spoke to his trainer David Geall this week and despite his star missing the start recently, Geall emphasised that Ferdinand Boy has a knack of winning when it counts.

Trent  It’s a big night at Geelong this evening with heats of the Geelong Oaks and Geelong Derby (Deadly Class, Quinlan Bale, Salad Dodger), plus the appearance of Plaintiff.

Quilts  Action Girl is contesting the Cannonball Sprint Final, and her trainer Gary Peach expressed to me that “she’s a terrific chaser and (she) has a great will to win”.

Gerard  Trainer Daryl Holmes admitted that El Dorado “has to win on Saturday night to get into the Topgun” when we chatted, but it won’t be easy against Paddy Wants Pats, Amron Boy and Aston Ulysses.

Trent  How good is the greyhound racing on Sunday? Jarick Bale and Titan Blazer in the same race at Sandown Park, while this year’s country cups king, Typhoon Sammy, is at Sale.

Quilts  Fingers crossed that Daniel and Rebecca Gibbons can secure more Group success in South Australia as well with Kelsey Bale in Sunday night’s Group 3 Gawler Gold Cup Final.
