Race 1
1 Joshua Dylan: House runner who look on song with an excellent trial win at Addington last week. Perfect draw. Look no further.
2 Rockngoodtime: Should drop straight onto the back of the fave and from there get the sweet trip and go close to running second to him.
6 Short And Sweet: Down from Canterbury and nice trial form on the board. Has some upside in this and can play a big role.
5 Loissonya: Sit and sprinter who could bob up in a race like this. No surprise to see her running at them late after a nice trip.
Selections: 1-2-6-5
Race 2
1 Loconte: Loved the run last time out after doing a fair bit of work. Should get on the speed and keep them honest and can win.
8 Dare To Defy: Debutant with some slick workout and trial form on the board. Gets handy enough here and a winning debut isn’t out of the question.
7 Sport Mental: No star, but an honest performer who is fresh up tonight and meets a very even looking field. Gets a good chance to get a win on the board.
4 Mack Sheer: Some encouragement in first and fourth starts with good fourths. Probably the right kind of race to get a little higher up the placings.
Selections: 1-8-7-3
Race 3
4 Gazza Galleon: Hauled in late last week after finding the front. No Crusher Collins here, so hard to catch with similar tactics.
2 Horse Of Course: Had plenty up the sleeve on the home turn last week before galloping. Needs to trot the entire but no reason why he couldn’t win.
7 Whatwillbeewillbee: Was chasing the entire last week after losing gait early. Prior form excellent and could be the blow out here with luck.
3 Humble Ladd: Lovely run fresh up and will only be better for that run. Can certainly get handy, keep them honest and be a player in this.
Selections: 4-2-7-3
Race 4
2 Wolfenstien: Better for the fresh up run last week after a nice workout. Good draw and an in form driver suggests yes.
1 The Nanenae Express: We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again. Long time maiden, but the best chance yet to get a win on the board is here.
4 Jive: Horror start last week at Oamaru. Forgive that, prior form was good enough to play a role in this and wouldn’t be here just for the run.
6 With The Stars: Handy run from new quarters last week. Hit the line well with a few issues. Can iron those out and be a player in this.
Selections: 2-1-4-6
Race 5
5 American Mac: Here’s the chance to get things back on track. Has taken on far better fields than this and no surprise to see him win.
2 Lucas Hood: Got the job done in style last week. Drawn well and this isn’t a good field so can certainly make it two in a row.
7 Hidden Delight: More upside than most in this line up and should be able to reel most of them in late with a cold shot at them.
3 Franco Riot: Two runs back have been OK. Generally needs things to fall into place, but that could happen here which increases the chances.
Selections: 5-2-7-3
Race 6
9 Rah De Rah: Double run last week and the first better than the other, can sit off these and swoop on them late with a bit of luck.
7 The Croupier: More upside than most in this race. Goes well and will improve with the run but good enough to compete here.
2 Motoring Major: Into the Hoffman barn and does have the ability to win a race like this. Change of scenery to work the oracle?
5 Delight Of Texas: Let’s just forget Kaikoura. Prior form was excellent and wouldn’t be here unless the trainer thought he could win.
Selections: 9-7-2-5
Race 7
2 First Son: Best form comes form on the markers with a sweet trip. Should find the markers here, but might still need the sweet trip. On top any.
8 Jacks N Jazz: Robust pacer who will go searching at some point and shouldn’t have too many problems finding a spot near or on the speed. Good enough.
1 Allandale: If he can relax and enjoy what should be a nice trip off the speed tonight then he’s a definite each way prospect in a race like this.
6 Ellnbac: Back in form with a good second last time out and this isn’t a good field. Should be right in the fight with any luck.
Selections: 2-8-1-6
Race 8
11 Hawaiian Hula: Looked good winning the maiden and does have a future ahead. More upside than most in this and awfully hard to beat.
5 Da Moons Mission: Did it all right and found the line with purpose to win last weekend. Going to win a few races and can get another here with any luck.
7 Clyde: In great form at the moment and trotting well. That form should carry through to find and no surprise to see him right in the thick of it when it gets serious.
9 Cuddley Trouble: Was going to get a big slice last week before the gallop. Overall form isn’t too bad when you break it down and a bit of a chance here.
Selections: 11-5-7-9
BEST: 4 Gazza Galleon (Race 3)
NEXT: 1 Joshua Dylan (Race 1)
VALUE: 5 American Mac (Race 5)
