Race 1

1 Kahress: Run of an improver fresh up at Omakau on the first day of the circuit. Should be better for that and the manners are good. Live chance here.

7 Kiwitrix: Left the manners at home at Omakau and took no part. Looks every bit a talented horse but still has a lot to learn. Probably wins if he trots.

9 Slainte: Williamson stable unleashes debutant on the final day of the circuit. Trial win was impressive here last week. Will win races.

4 Sunny Valley: Big run last time out at The Mot. Getting better for new trainer and looks a strong each way prospect in the first.

Selections: 1-7-9-4

Race 2

8 Mahia: Is better than the form line suggests. Meets a very average field here and today should be the day that it’s stand up and be noticed day.

10 With The Stars: Consistent efforts for new trainer. Likely to be relying on a whole heap of luck from the inside draw but will be running on better than most.

13 Red Onyx: Has ability, but still a bit of a work in progress. Nice trial here last week. Might need the run but good enough to take a shot at them if it presents.

6 Wee Ring The Changes: Last couple of runs have been excellent. Likely to get onto the speed here and from there should be a player.

Selections: 8-10-13-6

Race 3

11 Andy Hall: Stepped up and delivered on debut after plenty of good workout and trial form. Looks destined for bigger and better things and hard to beat here with manners.

4 Da Moons Mission: Two from two and looking every bit like a horse with a future ahead. Can step and run here and give the fave plenty to think about.

9 Big Iron: Progressive type who should be ready to step forward and get into the action today after some handy runs so far in this campaign. Orange in the bike too.

2 Christmas Babe: Two runs back from a spell. Manners are generally good. Looks a live chance of getting a slice here if on the speed and out of trouble.

Selections: 11-4-9-2

Race 4

2 Bring Back Leah: Found the lead at Omakau and then trailed. Scooted up the lane for a good third. On the speed here again and some sort of chance against a good field.

8 Silver Lady: Did a bit of work but kept fighting to the line at Omakau. Wide draw here but right driver in the bike to negate that. Should go close.

14 The Optimist: Impressive effort first up for the new trainers last time out. Has always looked better than a maiden and won’t be the worst chance here if the luck unfolds.

3 Barika: Has done a good job in a short career to date. Handy draw here to make a play for this if able to get onto the speed. Place chance.

Selections: 2-8-14-3

Race 5

5 Jacks N Jazz: Found the front at Roxburgh and kept fighting to the line. Should be prominent again and might be able to hold them off today.

11 I’m Jimmy James: Excellent effort to finish second behind talented stablemate last time out. Not a deep field here so has to be considered a strong chance again today.

4 Star Reactor: Has been hitting the line strongly in a few of the latest performances. Should find this a little easier and can make a big play here today.

2 Star Paige: Run of an improver in the last couple of efforts and hit the line well at Roxburgh. Might be able to get a slice of this from the handy draw.

Selections: 5-11-4-2

Race 6

12 Cab Calloway: Under rated wee pacer who should be able to make the most of the opportunity presented here. Even from the second line draw.

3 Sheeza Sport: Big swing in efforts last time out and in this race nicely. Goes well on the grass and should be a good chance from the handy front line draw.

10 Ideologist: Kept on ice for this after winning impressively at Winton. Morrison jumps in the bike and should give him every chance in this.

6 Jaccka Ted: Got the very much deserved win last time out and while stepping up in grade here, should still be a strong contender for success.

Selections: 12-3-10-6

Race 7

8 Rockin Rod: Patiently handled type with the right kind of ability to be a leading contender in a race like this. Will likely roll forward and look to give them something to think about.

14 Vintage Beach: Stuck to the task well last time out and should be getting better with a bit of racing under the belt. Has to be considered a good chance in this line up.

15 Champagneandwine: Was very good at Omakau. Can be a bit in and out but with a quiet run and one shot at them is lethal.

12 Ronnie Pickering: Not that far away at Roxburgh behind a few good ones. Should get near to the speed at some point here and give them a good shake.

Selections: 8-14-15-12

Race 8

8 Smokey Mac: Big win at Oamaru and then handy effort in the Green Mile at Methven. Should be up to most of these and could roll them all with one cold shot at them.

5 Humble Ladd: In great form with three wins in a row. Continues to surprise and produce better performances than the last too. Same again goes close.

9 Monty Python: Old war horse back from the Inter Dominions where he was far from disgraced, Wonderful old campaigner who won’t die wondering here.

3 Sekkie Monkey: Got going too late last time out but made up stacks of ground. Should be handier to the speed here and dangerous with one run at them.

Selections: 8-5-9-3

Race 9

6 Nemera Franco: Classy mare who started favourite on Cup Day. Loves the grass tracks and primed and ready for this assignment. Looks the bet of the day.

5 Dachy: Keeps going strong and was excellent at Roxburgh after finding the front. Likely to give them something to think about again today too.

4 Team Kiwi: Trainer takes the reins on this one over stablemate and best form would stack up to most in this line up. Gets a good chance.

1 Good On Ya Kiwi: Better than what the last few runs would suggest and from the inside draw here could be a player here with a nice trip and one go at them.

Selections: 6-5-4-1

Race 10

12 Lawrence: Big run to nearly get the chocolates at Gore. In good form and grass track shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Should be too tough for most of this field.

3 Chiller Bay: Pointed towards perhaps a return to form with a solid fourth last time out. Best would certainly be good enough to win this but perhaps might need to see one more confidence booster.

5 Tartan Trilogy: On speed runner who loves the grass tracks and if able to find the back of a nice one early can have a crack at them late and get a big slice of the feature.

8 Triroyale Brigade: Handy enough last time out and from the front line draw with a good beginning should be able to get onto the speed and give a sight in this.

Selections: 12-3-5-8

Race 11

2 Freddiesam: Just OK last time, perhaps should have done better. Another good draw though and his best is better than what most of these could produce. Should be right in the right.

5 Dyslexic: Sent around them mid-race on debut at Omakau and kept fighting to the line in a lost cause. Can improve with a run under the belt and be a leading player here.

12 The Interceptor: Not many would have missed the fresh up effort for third in a very good field. In the right kind of zone and should be a strong each way hope today.

1 The Night Watchman: Has done a good job in the last couple of races and from the good draw today will be on the speed throughout and give the chance to get into the fight.

Selections: 2-5-12-1

Race 12

3 Mossdale Lottee: Showed a bit of upside to win on debut at Winton. Drawn to get forward again and with a good run in front can be hard to beat once again.

4 Tulsa Jaccka: Rounded out some good recent form with a win last time out. Not the worst race to step up in grade in and should be competitive once again.

9 Lite Percussion: Plenty to like about the late work to finish third last time out behind a smart one. Might need a little luck from the inside but can certainly sneak into contention late.

2 Motoring Major: Held up at the wrong time at Omakau. This is a step up in grade. Handy draw though and should be able to make a play for success here.

Selections: 3-4-9-2

BEST: 6 Nemera Franco (Race 9)

NEXT: 2 Freddiesam (Race 11)

VALUE: 12 Cab Calloway (Race 6)
