The new week of racing gets underway at Taree on Monday afternoon, with a competitive nine-race program set for decision. The rail is in the true position the entire circuit, and with no rain forecast in the lead-up, the surface should upgrade from the Heavy 10 rating at the time of acceptances. Punters should expect a Soft 5 track, with the opening race scheduled for 11:35am local time.

Best Bet at Taree: Exorealm

Exorealm debuts for the Kristen Buchanan barn on the back of two soft pieces of work. Particularly his most recent effort at Gosford caught the eye, with the son of Exosphere cruising through the wire under his own steam. He appears wound-up and ready to go first-up, and with star country racing hoop Aaron Bullock set to take the reins, Exorealm will prove hard to hold out in this maiden contest.

Naahro has hit the line well in back-to-back starts and appears set to shirk the maiden tag on Monday. The Lohnro bred gelding has been getting too far back in slowly run races, and with the opportunity for a change of tactics could do the trick for the winless three-year-old. Expect Andrew Gibbons to launch forward from barrier seven, and with no speed on, watch for Naahro to tick-over a couple soft sectionals to score at start eight.

Best Value: Bangetta

Bangetta takes a dramatic drop back into Class 2 company and looks perfectly placed for success by the Kris Lees barn. The daughter of Hellbent didn’t go a yard on the Heavy surface at Randwick on May 15, with the Kensington circuit playing on-speed favours throughout the afternoon. This is the easiest opposition she’s faced for some time, and at the each-way price with online bookmakers, Bangetta looks a big price in this.
