Best Bet at Tamworth – Bugalugs
There’s plenty of speed in the fourth race of the afternoon, but if Bugalugs can hold the front and the fence from the inside alley, we expect him to be hard to run down. The seven-year-old gelding is looking for his 10th career victory, but he looks within his rights to do so on Monday after contesting midweek metropolitan races at Canterbury and on the Kensington track at Randwick at his past few starts. The experience of jockey Aaron Bullock will suit Bugalugs, as will the inside barrier. He has to carry 62.5kg in this event, but he’s all class and we anticipate that he will be too good.
Best Bet
Race 4 – #1 Bugalugs (1)
7yo Gelding | T: Scott Singleton | J: Aaron Bullock (62.5kg)

Next Best at Tamworth – Torowoto
Torowoto seemed to relish the change in scenery when stepping out in his stable debut on August 29 at this track over the mile, racing away to record a 4.5-length victory. Formerly with Peter & Will Hulbert and then with Tony Gollan, the seven-year-old is now considered a Tamworth local in the hands of Craig Martin, and we suggest he will win again. The son of Shamus Award steps out to 2100m on Monday which should suit, while the wet track shouldn’t be too much of a concern. Brooke Stower will be handy from barrier three once again, giving Torowoto every chance to go back-to-back.
Next Best
Race 6 – #4 Torowoto (3)
7yo Gelding | T: Craig Martin | J: Brooke Stower (59kg)

Best Value at Tamworth – Buckin’ Rippa
Buckin’ Rippe finally broke through for his maiden win three starts ago at this track and trip, so Damien Lane has returned to the scene of the crime for the 34-start six-year-old. Although it took 31 races to win one, the son of Delago Deluxe has never run a bad race at Tamworth, while apprentice hoop Anna Roper could hold the key, riding the horse once for the sole win. He was only narrowly beaten at Port Macquarie last start over 1208m, so he comes back to the 1000m, gets the claimer engaged and gets back to a track he loves. He will run a big race again.
Best Value
Race 8 – #9 Buckin’ Rippa (7)
6yo Gelding | T: Damien Lane | J: Anna Roper (a2)(55.5kg)
