Golden Tropaz Top Tip – Triple Missile
The Lindsey Smith-trained Triple Missile has been nothing short of impressive since returning from a spell, and we anticipate he will be the one to beat in the $150,000 Golden Tropaz on Friday. The four-year-old gelding resumed with a narrow defeat in the Wangoom Handicap two starts back when unleashing a strong finishing burst on a bottomless Heavy 10 at Warrnambool. He then backed it up with an eye-catching victory at Flemington on May 14 when getting the better of Mystery Shot and Biometric. The Smart Missile gelding is a genuine get-back-and-run-on galloper, so the tricky draw in barrier 15 should be no issue. The long straight of Swan Hill will enable Craig Newitt to have him building through the gears, and with the likes of Front Page making this a genuinely run event, it looks perfectly set-up for Triple Missile to finish over the top of his rivals.

Best Bet at Swan Hill – Kings Consort
The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained Kings Consort screams out like he is going to be a Caulfield Guineas contender in the spring, but prior to going to the paddock, he looks to be a clear best bet of the day at Swan Hill. Having won The Showdown two runs back, he backed it up with a narrow fourth-placed finish behind Twin Stars in the Group 3 SA Sires’ Produce Stakes at Morphettville on May 14. Twin Stars is set to go around in Saturday’s Group 1 JJ Atkins at Eagle Farm, whilst Kings Consort goes around in the Elvstroem Classic at Swan Hill. This is a significant drop in grade, and despite stepping back to the 1300m from the 1400m, this horse has a certain bit of class about him and looks the one to be with. The $2.70 available with online betting sites is over the odds.

Best Value at Swan Hill – Autissiodorum
The Ben & JD Hayes-trained Autissiodorum was narrowly defeated at Sale when finishing second on May 25, despite bucking badly at the start and all but throwing away his winning chances from that point. However, once he settled and tacked on towards the rear of the field, the four-year-old gelding managed to make up a stack of ground and went down by just 0.2 lengths. He draws gate two, and as long as he shows better barrier manners on Friday, there is no reason why he cannot pick up a second career win at start 11. He will stalk the speed throughout and, with even luck in the home straight, looks the one to beat in the opening leg of the quaddie. Autissiodorum might be hard to spell, but we’ll happily take the $9 on offer with Bet365.
