Seven Friday night races will be run and won at the Sunshine Coast this weekend. The track is rated a Soft 5 and the rail is in the +6m position for the entire circumference of the course. Race 1 is set to face the starter at 6:01pm.
Best Bet – Race 4 #7 Platinum Euros
We have tipped Platinum Euros multiple times before, and he hasn’t necessarily lived up to his market expectations, despite winning in his final run last campaign as a $1.35 favourite at this track. The Natalie McCall-trained gelding has won three of his five starts, and finished second first-up last preparation to Garibaldi who has since come out and stamped himself as a potential Winter Carnival Group 1 performer, so that narrow defeat looks to be a good form line. 1000m from barrier four looks ideal for the Eurozone gelding, who will be steered by Tiff Brooker who knows the four-year-old well. We’d be surprised to see his number not in the frame.

Next Best – Race 1 #4 Isabella’s Spring
Barry Lockwood has Isabella’s Spring engaged in the opener on Friday night, and she looks ready to win at the 1600m on the big track. The four-year-old mare has placed in five of her eight races, having been only just run down late two starts back at Ipswich as a short-priced favourite. She settled near last at the Gold Coast at her most recent outing and flew late into fourth over 1400m, so the extra trip on the big track looks perfect. Drawn barrier nine, she is likely to settle around midfield and start to chime into the race at the right time. This is her chance to breakthrough.

Best Value – Race 6 #5 Miss Too Fly
Tony Gollan and Ryan Maloney combine in the sixth with a nice mare in Miss Too Fly. The four-year-old Better Than Ready mare has won three of 11 starts and trialled nicely behind a smart one in Mass Destruction in preparation for this. She has won two of three first-up runs and maps to box seat from barrier three. The Gollan-trained mare has had just the one start at the Sunshine Coast where she was well beaten albeit in a nice enough race behind Gee Tee Tee. She can be winning first-up again and is in the right stable.
