HorseBetting’s Queensland form analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for the eight-race card at the Sunshine Coast on Friday night, with odds from Australia’s best online bookies. The track is currently rated a Good 4, while the rail is out 7m for the entire course. The field for the first race of the evening will face the starter at 5:25pm AEST.
Best Bet at Sunshine Coast – Ginja
In the fourth race of the night, the in-form Steve O’Dea & Matt Hoysted stable saddle up Ginja, a nice stayer on the rise. The four-year-old son of Show A Heart won well over this distance two starts back at the Gold Coast, before finishing 1.3 lengths off a seven-time winner in Princess Cavallo at this track and distance on January 7. Ginja maps to get every chance from barrier four under Samantha Collett, which should see this consistent galloper very hard to beat at the conclusion of this race. The stars look like they will align on Friday night.
Next Best at Sunshine Coast – Brave Nick
Michael Costa and James Orman combine in the opening leg of the quaddie with Brave Nick. The four-year-old is a recent winner at Ballina, where he led all of the way to win by three lengths in a 1600m Class 1. The son of Nicconi has been a model of consistency in his eight starts, winning twice by a combined eight lengths and then placing on four other occasions. Brave Nick will have to carry 62kg in this 1600m event, but he will be hard to beat given the class of Orman in the saddle and the fact that he should be able to lead on his own terms.
Best Value at Sunshine Coast – Logomania
Mark Du Plessis and Bryan Dais will team up in the sixth with Logomania, a three-year-old gelding. The son of Eurozone ran last on debut back in December 2020 at Group 3 level behind Alpine Edge, before he was sidelined for almost 12 months to the day. A solid third when fresh springboarded him into a very good win at Ipswich on December 29, where despite being wide throughout, he was able to win by just under half a length. Logomania has since finished midfield at the Gold Coast in a $250,000 Class 4, where he was seven lengths off The Ritz and Palladas, so he should be competitive back to Class 1 company.
