Sunday racing in Queensland heads to the Sunshine Coast this weekend for eight provincial races. HorseBetting’s Queensland racing analyst presents you with his best bets, value bet and quaddie numbers for the program, which will be run and won on a Heavy 9 track, where the rail is out 3m. The field for the first race of the afternoon is scheduled to face the starter at 12:16pm AEST.
Best Bet at Sunshine Coast – Cudyado
We really liked the recent trial of David Vandyke’s Cudyado, as he stretched out to win the 1000m heat by five lengths. The three-year-old gelding by Spirit Of Boom was heavily backed on debut, but after bundling the start he had too much to do and could only manage fifth, finishing behind Zavaboom and Better Than Epic. The gelding is one of just two rides on the Sunshine Coast for gun jockey William Pike, so the tricky draw can be offset by the Group 1-winning rider. Cudyado looks to have found a very suitable race on Sunday.

Next Best at Sunshine Coast – Burning Bell
Burning Bell has been very impressive winning her last two races at Ipswich and here at the Sunshine Coast respectively. Trained by Toby & Trent Edmonds, the three-year-old by Bel Esprit looks as though she is yet to put it all together despite winning stylishly, but now the blinkers go on which should be just what she needs. Having been narrowly beaten on debut, Burning Bell is pretty stiff to not be undefeated after three starts, and while we can’t dwell on the past, we expect her to extend her winning streak on Sunday. She is a classy conveyance.

Best Value at Sunshine Coast – Ombre Volante
While Ombre Volante’s form doesn’t necessarily jump off the page, we liked her last run at Dalby behind a handy horse in American Red. The three-year-old filly by Flying Artie has had five starts for just the one third – which came at Dalby – while she has also finished fourth on three occasions. Prior to her placing, trainer Will Loudon took the filly to Rockhampton where she ran well behind Tycoon Fury and subsequent Warwick winner Jack Be Lucky. Jasmine Cornish claims 2kg on Sunday, so the filly is in well with 55kg on her back and she should be more than competitive.
