Mapperley Stud stallion Contributer has excelled this season and his position as a proven sire in New Zealand is evident when looking at his key performance measures.
From only 38 runners this season, he has produced four individual stakes winners and a total of eight stakes performers, with pleasing strike rates of 10.5 percent stakes winners to runners and 21 percent stakes horses to runners.
Campionessa has been his standout performer this season, registering three wins in her campaign highlighted by her brilliant performance in the Gr.2 Rich Hill Mile (1600m).
Elizabeth Rose saluted at black-type level for the first time when beating Campionessa in the Listed Spring Classic (2000m) at Riccarton.
Trained by Shane Kennedy and Anna Furlong, the Contributer mare has been ever consistent with a record of 23 starts for five wins and a further eight placings.
Talented three-year-old filly Family Ties also broke through for a valuable black-type victory in the Listed Oaks Prelude (1800m).
Contributer showed his versatility as a sire when his daughter Maria Farina took out the Listed Lightning Handicap (1200m).
Contributer’s offspring have been competing at stakes level throughout the season and he has added a further four stakes performers to his resume – I’mintowin, Soprano Supreme, Llanacord and Silverina.
Mapperley Stud principal Simms Davison has been pleased with Contributer’s results on the track this season.
“Contributer is having a fantastic season, he’s left some smart fillies and they have gone onto win valuable stakes races,” he said.
“He’s doing all of this off only a small number of runners due to his earlier injury, he’s flying at the moment and building an impressive stallion profile.
“Just look at his performance statistics this season, one in five are earning black-type, that’s a brilliant strike rate.
“Campionessa has become one of the best weight-for-age horses in the country and we look forward to her adding to her already impressive resume next preparation.”
