Godolphin’s Spacewalk is set to compete in the inaugural $1 million Meteorite (1200m) on Cranbourne Cup day next Saturday.

The five-year-old will represent Busuttin Racing in the 1200-metre race, facing contenders such as Baraqiel and Rey Magnerio.

Although Spacewalk hasn’t secured a victory since the Group 3 Rising Fast Stakes (1200m) at Flemington last year, he has shown consistent form this spring, recently finishing a close second to Way To The Stars in the Listed Century Stakes (1000m) on Oaks Day.

“Godolphin is excited to partner with Busuttin Racing through having Spacewalk compete in the Busuttin Racing slot for the first race of the inaugural Southside Slot Series,” said Andy Makiv, managing director of Godolphin Australia.

The Meteorite marks the opening leg of the Southside Slot Series, with The Supernova (1400m) at Pakenham scheduled for December 21 as the second leg.
