There’s ‘no season like snow season’ – but Dees’ fans have put their ‘Toorak tractors’ away, if you’ll excuse the pun. That’s how well Melbourne is travelling this year!
And that’s why Demons’ supporters will paradoxically get on ‘skis’ for a quick piece of TAB’s AFL/Greys Saturday night action.
TAB is offering $4.50 about Melbourne ‘snowballing’ Essendon and budding champ Shima Classic winning at The Meadows.
The Demons are perched on top of the ladder with 11 wins from 13 matches and Essendon 10th with six wins.
Inexplicably, Melbourne went into a ‘Big Freeze’ on the Queen’s Birthday weekend, losing by 17pts to Collingwood prior to a bye. However, the Bombers took down the Hawks by 13pts last week.
Meanwhile, Shima Classic (Box 5) – prepared at Anakie by Victoria’s leading trainer Andrea Dailly – is engaged in a Free For All (525m). She’s $3.00 equal favourite with Mr. Fix It (Box 4) on TAB’s fixed odds market.
Shima Classic – a younger half-sister of superstar Shima Shine – has won nine races from 21 starts. She’s two from three this track/distance with a flying 29.76sec PB.
And she’s fast establishing an impressive Group race CV, having finished third in the G1 Sapphire Crown and contested finals of the G1 Australian Cup and G2 Ballarat Cup.
The Essendon vs Melbourne clash at the MCG commences at 7.25pm, while Shima Classic is in Race 8 Box 5 at 8.50pm.
