Hong Kong racing is back to its regular Sunday twilight spot after a rare Saturday meeting last weekend, and this time has served up a massive 11-race program at Sha Tin. The rail is in the C+3 position and the testing conditions look ready to continue with thunderstorms forecast throughout the weekend. We’re likely to be racing on a yielding surface, and with the rail already out, it wouldn’t shock to see gallopers circling to the widest part of the track as the night goes on. The first race is set to get underway at 4pm HKT (6pm AEST).
Best Bet: Packing Bole
It’s very rare that we’d be picking a first starter as the best bet in Hong Kong; however, we simply had to be making an exception with Packing Bole set to make his debut on Sunday. He comes from the Danny Shum yard and has won his last three jump-outs in magnificent fashion – particularly his latest on the Sha Tin all-weather on May 5. It saw this son of Deep Field lead all the way and put a significant space on his opposition, going on to score in the trial by 3.3 lengths. They’ve kept this intriguing galloper unexposed until towards the end of the season and this seems like a terrific opportunity to make his debut start a winning one. Zac Purton takes the mount and will be looking to dictate terms up on speed from barrier three, and from there Packing Bole is going to take a power of beating.

Next Best: Simple Hedge
Simple Hedge is unfortunate not to be looking for his third straight win of the campaign and we think he can make amends for followers. He blew the start at this course and distance on May 28, but showed his class to grind his way into fourth position when checking off heels at a crucial stage to boot. He’s a spectacular type and although he’s got some quirks in his racing style, should have the ability to give these a real test. Zac Purton knows this son of Sebring well now, taking the reins on all three occasion and this time we expect Simple Hedge to lob a much more economical run throughout – from there, Simple Hedge should prove superior to Class 4 company, even with the 61kg on his back.

Best Value: Pins Prince
Pins Prince made his return from a short spell on May 13 and got more than a pass mark in our books. He returned into Class 4 after some impressive barrier trials and were staggered to see the price of $41 on offer with online bookmakers making him a keen each-way play that day. He would’ve finished a lot closer as well; however, he was cast three-wide throughout the 1200m and finished a game two lengths away into fifth position. He won’t be that big a price heading into Sunday, but in a very open and competitive affair, we think he’ll be close to double figures again, and if he sneaks under the radar of the best online betting sites, Pins Prince will give followers a great each-way sight.
