SENTRACK BACKS SATURDAY MORNING CHASING AND PACING

SENTrack will throw its support behind Saturday morning greyhound and trots racing with a dedicated two-hour show to launch this weekend – Saturday Morning Chasing & Pacing.

Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) and Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) announced recently that they would trial Saturday morning racing – a joint initiative by the codes to widen their audience.

Hosted by Jason Bonnington, Saturday Morning Chasing & Pacing on SENTrack will take live calls of all trots races from Melton each Saturday of the three week trial, as well all the greyhound races from Ballarat (May 9 and 16) and Shepparton (May 23).

And to accommodate the early start of both codes, 1116 SEN’s highly popular The Odds Couple program will run a special 90-minute show from 7.30am.

Fronted by Simon O’Donnell and David Taggart, the show will mark the occasion of early trots and greyhounds with a big listener giveaway during the first trot race at 8.30a

Three dog and two trot races will run during their show before 9am.

Harness Racing Victoria was announced as a founding partner of SENTrack when it launched last month with chief executive Dayle Brown commenting on the positive response to date.

“We are excited to be a founding partner of SENTrack, Australia’s newest audio and digital racing platform and have been overwhelmed by the feedback from racing fans who are loving the coverage – which we’re pleased to announce will now
include the Saturday morning racing trial,” Brown said.

Greyhound Racing Victoria Chief Executive Officer Alan Clayton said the trial would inform future racing strategy.

“At this time, when fans are craving sport, we have a great opportunity to promote and celebrate the excitement and thrill of our respective sports to increase community interest and mainstream appeal,” Clayton said.

Crocmedia Chief Executive Officer, Craig Hutchison congratulated the codes on the Saturday morning trial.

“We are thrilled to throw SENTrack’s support behind Saturday morning dogs and trots racing – it’s a terrific example of great collaboration between the two codes and we expect audiences will love it,” Hutchison said.

Crocmedia launched SENTrack in March in support of Australia’s racing, harness and greyhound industries – while those sports are still able to operate under COVID-19 guidelines.

Catch all the action of Saturday Morning Chasing & Pacing from 9-11am Saturday mornings for the next three weeks on SENTrack in Melbourne on 1377AM; Perth 657AM; Wollongong 1575 AM; Gosford 801AM; Ingham 96.9FM and Atherton 99.1FM and via the SEN app.

The new show will immediately follow The Odds Couple, which also runs on 1116 SEN and 1629 SEN SA and Mt Gambier.
