The hunter region of NSW is the destination to kick-off our week of racing on Monday afternoon, as the Scone Race Club gets set to host a competitive seven-race program. The rail is out +5m between the 800m-winning post, while the remainder of the rail will sit in the true position. We should be in for pristine conditions on race-day, with only sunny skies predicted leading into Monday afternoon as the opening event gets underway at 1:50pm AEDT.
Best Bet at Scone: Shuri
Shuri was a sensational debut winner at Taree on October 20, going on to score by an astonishing 4.6 lengths. The daughter of Satono Aladdin was much too classy for her opposition at the country circuit. as the Kris Lees-trained mare was able to take a forward position before careering away with the prize. Debuts don’t come more dominant than what we saw, and if she can hold that form heading to Scone on Monday, Shuri should prove very hard to beat.
Best Bet
Race 2 – #1 Shuri (1)

Next Best at Scone: Wild Calm
It’s hard to believe Wild Calm is still at maiden at start eight heading into Monday afternoon, with the four-year-old competing in some quality maiden company. She’s slowly starting to make improvement with every start, with her latest a narrow defeat behind the progressive Jurisprudence at Gosford on October 26. The Annabel Neasham-trained galloper loomed a threat with 200m to go, and seemingly peaked on the run. This is a much more suitable maiden for the daughter of American Pharoah, and we fully expect Wild Calm to remove the maiden tag here.
Next Best
Race 1 – #1 Wild Calm (10)

Best Value at Scone: Mr Wallace
Mr Wallace seems to be relishing in his racing since joining the Cody Morgan barn at the beginning of April and despite only one win on the resume so far, this looks a manageable task for the son of Medaglia D’oro. He was powering through the line over the unsuitable 1000m journey first-up at Muswellbrook on October 23, dashing through the wire to suggest an immediate setup in trip would be ideal. Braith Nock takes the reins to get Mr Wallace much more likeable in the weights with 59kgs after the claim, and with an economical run from barrier seven, Mr Wallace warrants an each-way ticket.
Best Value
Race 4 – #1 Mr Wallace (7)
5yo Gelding | T: Cody Morgan | J: Braith Nock (a2) (61kg)
