Racing will return to Ascot Racecourse this Saturday afternoon, where a nine-race meeting is set down for decision. Although the extremely warm weather is in the rear-view mirror, there is no rain on the forecast for the weekend, which means the track will stay in the Good range for the whole program. The rail will be in the +7m position for the entire circuit, with the first race set to jump at 12:29pm AWST.
Best Bet at Ascot: Final Siren
Final Siren will return from a six-week freshen on Saturday, where the three-year-old gelding will be attempting to keep his undefeated record intact after winning his first three career starts. The Rebecca Bayliss-trained gelding led from start to finish and won dominantly in a 3YO Open Handicap last start at this track over 1000m, where he defeated Petula by 1.3 lengths. This son of I’m All The Talk will stay in a similar grade but will have some extra challenges on Saturday, as he will have to run an extra 100m and is coming off a break. If Kyra Yuill can find the front without doing too much work, this smart galloper should bring up his fourth straight victory.

Next Best at Ascot: Fluro Neuro
The lethal combination of Grant & Alana Williams and William Pike will combine with the talented Fluro Neuro in the last race of the afternoon. This four-year-old entire has finished in the top four at all three starts this campaign, including an impressive win over 1200m at this track two back. This son of Gingerbreadman was a little unlucky in his most recent start, where he settled near last and tried to make his run through the pack, but never got a crack at the leaders. With Pike taking the reins on Saturday and a solid tempo expected, everything should set up perfectly for Fluro Neuro to win again.

Best Value at Ascot: Nurhaci
After finishing second behind Harmika at massive odds first-up last start, Nurhaci should get a very good chance to win second-up on Saturday in a similar contest over 1000m. The Peter Fernie-trained gelding settled midfield off the rails and got a nice run in transit before letting down with his finish in the final 300m. However, when the sprint went on, this son of Nicconi was overrun by the winner in the final strides. This seven-year-old gelding needed that run and should be much fitter for this clash with a few rivals that he met last start. Lucy Fiore has retained the ride, and if she can push forward and settle Nurhaci in a similar spot, he can salute for us at good odds with online bookmakers.
Best Value
Race 4 – #5 Nurhaci (8)
