A competitive eight-race program is set down for decision on the Hillside track at Sandown Racecourse this Wednesday. Near-perfect weather is forecast in the lead-up, meaning we should be racing on a Good 4 throughout the day. The rail comes out 9m the entire track, with racing commencing at 1pm AEST.
Best Bet at Sandown: Binotto
The Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained Binotto was arguably a good thing licked at Cranbourne on August 20 and looks poised to go one better on Wednesday. Having been held up for a run on the home turn, the three-year-old gelding launched late to go down by the barest of margins to Artistic Genius. He draws barrier in a field of eight here, and jockey Ben Allen should be able to keep this bloke out of trouble throughout. If Binotto replicates the turn of foot he produced on debut, he looks a great way to kick off the program.

Next Best at Sandown: Chilled
Matt Laurie’s Chilled returns to the races for the first time since finishing midfield in the Group 3 David Coles AM Stakes at Morphettville on May 20. The three-year-old filly is already a stakes winner and brings some of the best formlines into this race. She gets in perfectly at the weights following Laura Lafferty’s 2kg claim, and from barrier one, the pair can either take up the running or sit off the leaders’ heels throughout. Either way, Chilled looks to have a touch of class on her rivals.

Best Value at Sandown: Crazy In Love
The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Crazy In Love looks to have struck a winnable BM70 after flashing home late at Cranbourne last time out. She stays at the 1400m on Wednesday and gains the services of Ben Melham. The mare’s patient racing pattern offsets the awkward draw in barrier 10, and with a genuine tempo expected, the race looks perfectly set up for Crazy In Love to launch down the heart of the track and win this.
Best Value
Race 5 – #7 Crazy In Love (10)
5yo Mare | T: Ciaron Maher and David Eustace | J: Ben Melham (57.5kg)
