Sandown will host an eight-race meeting on the Hillside track this Wednesday afternoon, where the first race is set to jump at 3:05pm AEDT. With warm conditions forecast on Tuesday and Wednesday, it is expected that the track will stay in the Good range after being rated as a Good 4 at the time of acceptances. The rail will be pushed out to the +6m position for the entire circuit.
Best Bet at Sandown: King Zephyr
King Zephyr couldn’t have been more impressive when the Grahame Begg-trained gelding ran home from last to record a 2.3-length victory at Pakenham first-up. It was only the third start for the son of Hallowed Crown, but given the ease with which he rounded up his rivals, he looks to have a lot of talent. From barrier two, Jordan Childs can settle closer to the speed, and King Zephyr will prove too good once again.

Next Best at Sandown: Oxford Blue
After his last campaign ended with a last-place finish in the Group 1 VRC Derby, Oxford Blue will return from a four-month spell in what looks to be a very winnable contest. The Julius Sandhu-trained gelding trialled well at Cranbourne over 1200m, finishing third under little to no riding throughout. From barrier three, Ethan Brown will take Oxford Blue to the front and settle outside the leader before giving a strong kick at the 400m mark.

Andrew Bobbin will be hoping for a change of luck for Girls Girls Girls after the four-year-old mare recorded her seventh second-place finish last start. The daughter of Fiorente will resume off an eight-week freshen after she received a torrid run over 2400m at Geelong on January 4. Although she drops back in trip to 1800m for this contest, Craig Williams will push forward and settle Girls Girls Girls on speed before kicking clear at the top of the home straight to give their rivals something to chase.
