The fifth and final day of the Royal Ascot carnival winds down with a terrific seven-race card to finish proceedings. The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes (1200m) is the last of the Group 1 features across the five days and brings some Australian interest as Artorius looks to improve upon his minor placing in the 2022 edition of the race. The rain should hold off for the final day as well, so we should have picturesque conditions for the opening race at 2:30pm BST (11:30pm AEST).
Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes: Artorius
Artorius will be seeking redemption after running third in this race last year, and he comes into this year’s edition of the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes in even better form. After winning the Group 1 Canterbury Stakes on March 4 he found himself going against Australia’s best in the George Ryder Stakes, finishing fourth behind Anamoe. It was a shock to hear he would then be heading back to Europe, but his run last year is proof he can do the job. With James McDonald aboard, Artorius can secure victory for Australia.

Best Bet at Royal Ascot: Pearls And Rubies
Pearls And Rubies kicked off her career with a debut win at Navan on June 11, and although the margin may not appear dominant, the win was exceptional. Aiden O’Brien’s filly missed the kick before being ridden up to find a position, and when Ryan Moore asked the daughter of No Nay Never for an effort, she obliged in kind. The jockey-trainer combination has seen plenty of success so far at Royal Ascot and we expect that to continue to start Day 5.

Next Best at Royal Ascot: The Antarctic
The Antarctic has produced at Group 3 level already in this campaign, going on to score at Naas on May 21. That was over six furlongs, and now the 1400m down the Ascot straight looks ideal for a galloper that will be looking to make all. This son of Dark Angel should ping the lids from the grandstand side to find the front, and from there he’s going to take plenty of chasing down.
