NSW metropolitan racing returns to Rosehill on Saturday afternoon, where a massive 10-race card is set to get underway at 11:30am local time. The autumn carnival in Sydney may be winding down, but with 166 acceptors across the day, there’s still plenty of quality on show. The rail is back in its true position, and with sunny skies predicted throughout the week, the surface should be in pristine Good 4 condition.
Best Bet at Rosehill: Kazou
Kazou returns after a 152-day spell and doesn’t seem to have missed a step based on her barrier trial win at this course on March 18. She led all the way to score by 8.8 lengths, doing it comfortably under minimal riding by Tommy Berry. Her form before being tipped out reads exceptionally well for this BM94 contest, and with no weight on her back, watch for Kazou to make every post a winner with Jay Ford in the saddle.

Next Best at Rosehill: Rantan
Although the margin only reads a half-length at Newcastle on April 3, Rantan was ultra-impressive. She was forced to make a sustained run from the rear of the field, circling her rivals to score. She maps to sit in behind the speed in this open two-year-old contest, and with Joshua Parr stalking the opposition from the one-one, expect Rantan to be prominent when asked for the ultimate effort.

Best Value at Rosehill: Waterford
The Chris Waller-trained Waterford returns after contesting the Group 2 Ingham (1600m) at the end of last preparation and looks suitably placed to redeem his winless campaign. He was far from disgraced, making inroads from the back-half of the field to finish within 2.5 lengths of Loch Eagle. His most recent jump-out caught the eye at Randwick on April 8, and provided Waterford can recapture some of his best form from his initial Australian campaign, this guy should be kept safe with online bookmakers.
