We’ve got twilight racing heading onto the Kensington circuit at Randwick Racecourse on Friday afternoon for a competitive seven-race program. The track is currently listed as a Soft 6; however, we should see plenty of sunshine hitting the racecourse in the lead up to the meeting, so expect an upgrade closer to a Good 4. The rail has moved out +3m the entire circuit and as always when racing on the Kensington surface, you much prefer to be forward heading for home, as it can be tricky to make up ground from the back.
The first race is set to get underway at 3:20pm AEDT.
Best Bet at Randwick-Kensington: Parisal
Parisal returns on Friday afternoon for the James Cummings yard and looks to be returning in good order after a 15-week spell. She stepped out into maiden company in her first campaign against the Shohei at Canterbury on September 21 to be beaten a length, before stepping into Listed company over the 1400m. It all came a little bit too soon for this daughter of Astern and now back in trip to the 1200m and two outstanding barrier trial efforts, we think Parisal can get her first career win. James McDonald takes the reins after riding Parisal in the second trial and has drawn the perfect gate on Friday afternoon. We expect McDonald to ping the lids and to lead all the way in this one. While this isn’t exactly an easy kill, we think Parisal will prove too strong.

Next Best at Randwick-Kensington: Call Di
We were keen to be with Call Di at Kembla Grange on Tuesday; however, it seems we’ll have to settle for Friday afternoon on the Kensington track. Similarly to Parisal, Call Di comes here after a 15-week spell from the Listed Reginald Allen on October 15 and now looks to return a winner and break her maiden status. Since that enormous effort to finish just 1.8 lengths off A Lot More Love, Call Di has had two terrific barrier trial efforts to boot, suggesting she can be ready to find the winners enclosure first-up for Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou. The only query we’ve got on Call Di is the barrier draw looking a tricky task for jockey Nash Rawiller to overcome, but we’ll leave it to him to get Call Di somewhere with cover, before producing her electrifying best.

Best Value at Randwick-Kensington: Infinitive
Infinitive represents great value on Friday afternoon with the $15 with online bookmakers looking an overs price for us. While she’s only just broken her maiden status on January 17, we thought it was a dominant win despite the small margin to second. She only got clear late and took what felt like an eternity to wind up; however, once she did lift to the line, she appeared to have plenty of running left up her sleeve going past the post. Her win came at the 1400m and now finding a low weight in a 1550m contest should be suitable based on what we’ve seen from this Hellbent filly. From barrier two look for McEvoy to be positive and slot in behind the leaders and with any luck, Infinitive will be finding the line best again at a big quote.
