The all-weather track at Pakenham is scheduled to host a stacked nine-race program on Tuesday afternoon. An overcast day is forecast for the track and as always, we anticipate the track will play fairly throughout the card, with no evident bias expected. Racing is set to get underway at 12:30pm AEST.
Best Bet at Pakenham: Diesel ‘N’ Dust
Jason Warren’s Diesel ‘N’ Dust has strung together two straight wins at the Pakenham synthetic 1200m to begin his campaign and doesn’t look like slowing down. The five-year-old was forced to travel wide throughout her last start success and showed plenty of determination late to score. The son of Pride of Dubai has four wins and three minors at the Pakenham 1200m and has only missed the top three on one occasion on synthetic surfaces. Dakotah Keane’s 3kg claim gets him in perfectly with 58.5kg on his back and if Diesel ‘N’ Dust can find cover early, he is clearly the one to beat.

Next Best at Pakenham: Dick Whittington
The Phillip Stokes-trained Dick Whittington was a dominant track and trip winner in BM64 grade on July 3 and can go on with the job on Tuesday. He returns to the 2200m and despite going into BM70 grade, looks just as hard to go past if he puts his best hoof forward. The six-year-old gelding will look to hold a prominent position under Brian Higgins from barrier seven. When asked to quicken, we’re confident Dick Whittington can kick clear and prove too hard to run down in the home straight.

Best Value at Pakenham: Offensive Charm
It was hard to get too enthused by what Offensive Charm dished up upon resumption at the Pakenham synthetic 1100m on July 9. The two-year-old filly finished second at her only second-up run in her short career thus far having derive great benefit from her debut run. We’re hoping it is a similar story into her second campaign. From barrier nine, Liam Riordan will look to have her settled in the moving line with cover and with the step up to 1200m, we’re hoping Offensive Charm can find another gear and prove too hard to hold out.
