Eight races are set to be run and won on the Pakenham synthetic track on Tuesday afternoon from 1pm AEST. HorseBetting.com.au brings you best bets, top odds and free quaddie numbers for the meeting.

Best Bet at Pakenham – Inundation

There are no prizes for tipping a $1.40 shot as our best bet of the day, but the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained Inundation has a bit of X-factor about him. The three-year-old gelding bolted in under a hold at Mornington on May 24 and had buckets left in reserve. He is a 62-rater going around in a BM58, but with Matthew Chadwick claiming 3kg, we expect to see Inundation hunt for the rail, dictate terms throughout and continue on his impressive start to his career. The synthetic is always a place you want to be up on speed, and with a genuine future about him, a high cruising tempo and plenty under his bonnet, Inundation looks a deadset moral.

Next Best at Pakenham – Italian Poet

The Simon Zahra-trained Italian Poet is as honest a galloper as you could ask for. Despite winning just once this campaign from eight starts, he gets his chance this Tuesday. The three-year-old gelding has not missed the top five once this time in, notching up six minor placings to go with that win at Kilmore four runs back. He gains the services of Daniel Moor, which can only be a bonus, and given the lack of speed in this field, we expect the Zacinto gelding will lead this field up from barrier three. With race fitness on his side and a couple of cheap sectionals expected, Italian Poet should be too hard to run down. The $3.40 with Neds is a nice price to load into.

Best Value at Pakenham – Hunka Hunka Harry

Call us crazy, but the $51 on offer from Palmerbet about Hunka Hunka Harry in the second leg of the quaddie is simply ridiculous. The six-year-old gelding boasts a 4: 2-2-0 record on the synthetic, albeit with those two wins coming in BM58 company, and he is resuming in BM64 grade. Alana Kelly holds an 11: 2-6-0 record when patterning Hunka Hunka Harry, so we know he will be given every opportunity; it is just whether he is good enough at this level. From barrier eight, look for Kelly to have this bloke lobbed in the one-one or three pairs back with cover. As long as he does not get stuck wide, Hunka Hunka Harry can run a big race at a huge price.
