The second of back-to-back race nights at Pakenham Racing Club will take place this Friday evening. With no rain on the forecast for Thursday and Friday, we expect to be racing on a perfect Good 4 surface. The rail will be out in the +3m position from the 1000m to the 400m and back in the true position for the remainder of the circuit. The first of eight races at Pakenham will jump at 6:15pm AEDT.
Best Bet at Pakenham: Tick Tock Lady
Our best bet of the night will be the Grahame Begg-trained Tick Tock Lady who has won both of her race starts to begin her career, with her latest victory at Moonee Valley over 1600m on February 17 being the more impressive of the two. This four-year-old mare made the step up from Maiden grade to Class 1 grade with relative ease, so with her rising to a Benchmark 70 Handicap on Friday, we expect her to take the class rise in her stride once again. This daughter of San Padre had to carry 58kg last start and with the ease of her win, she has been given an extra 2kg on Friday, giving her 60kg, which looks to be the only thing that could stop her from going three from three. Jordan Childs has ridden this mare at both of her starts and will ride her again on Friday, so from barrier five we expect him to settle on the outside in clear running room in the small, six-horse field and allow this girl to build through her gears on the home turn.

Next Best at Pakenham: Dancinginthedark
After finally breaking through to break her maiden last start over 1600m at this track and trip, Dancinginthedark from the Michael Kent yard will be looking to go on with it now and record back-to-back victories. This daughter of Testa Rossa showed in her win that she can run on powerfully in the final 400m of a testing and quickly run 1600m contest, as she recorded a dominant 2.25 length victory where she ran away from her rivals in the final 100m. With a good amount of speed in the race, we should see another fast-run contest which should set it up for this girl to run home from a midfield position and show her superior turn of foot. Ethan Brown will continue his strong association with this four-year-old mare and from barrier four, he should have her settle off the fence, giving her every chance to replicate her maiden victory.

Best Value at Pakenham: Supertrail
The fifth race of the night will be a Maiden Plate over 1600m, which will feature the Peter Moody-trained Supertrail who finished third on debut behind Dictionary and Promises Kept at this track and trip on February 9. On debut this three-year-old gelding raced against his stablemate and race favourite Brand New, where they both took up the lead, however, even though this guy raced ungenerously and a bit green, he still beat his stablemate home in the final 50m. The race experience will only favour this gelding and now that he gets a senior jockey on board in Luke Nolen second-up, we should see this son of So You Think go very close to breaking his maiden on Friday night.
