Racing returns to Pakenham on Thursday with all fields featuring eight or more runners, which will please punters.
In race one, 11 of the 14 runners are racing for the first time, with many leading trainers presenting their horses for showing. That race starts at 5:15pm, while the last race closes the program at 8:45pm.
For the quaddie players, it kicks off in race five at 7:15pm.
BEST BET: Passive Aggressive
This three-year-old filly looked impressive when winning her first ever start at Werribee on May 2 over the 1100m. On that occasion she took command, led all of the way and never looked like losing, after getting backed in from $1.60 to $1.35 late with online bookmakers. The Fastnet Rock x Miss Judgement filly will likely try the same tactics here again and look for the lead from barrier two. If one comes over and crosses, she should still be able to position up nicely from that alley with Jordan Childs on board. The odds won’t be huge, but we will be surprised if this one doesn’t run in the top three.

NEXT BEST: EL CORDOBES
Having his third career start, the Danny O’Brien-trained El Cordobes impressed first up at Geelong when winning as second favourite. He then went to Sandown and made ground on a surface where they weren’t swopping from behind, doing enough to run sixth. Since then he has had a three-month spell but has been prepared with two winning jumpouts at Flemington recently. The All Too Hard x Pasodoble gelding should put in a forward showing here and will likely make his run from the 500m mark after settling midfield. Murrajong Road for the Maher & Eustace camp will attract plenty of support, and if our guy can get on the back of that horse in the home straight, it might be a bonus.

VALUE BET: FIELDS OF GRACE
The form of this three-year-old filly isn’t great (unplaced in both starts), but she is returning to this venue for the third time, so she has the track exposure. On debut she was only beaten 1.6 lengths when fifth and she led on that occasion. She followed that up with a sixth on March 3 when she couldn’t really get over. We think if she can sit handy, she can run a good race at odds. Applejax for Sam & Anthony Freedman ran second on debut and will be a danger.
