GRV is once again thrilled to participate in 3AW’s Neil’s Cruise For the Kids in support of the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.
The 45-minute cruise sets off from Southbank at 8.30am on Friday, March 3 and leading the greyhound racing community contingent on the cruise will be GRV Chair, Peita Duncan, CEO Stuart Laing, Traralgon Greyhound Racing Club Manager Olivia Alcock and her Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club counterpart Jodie Faralla as well as GRV ambassador and Melbourne Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen.
Three Good Friday race meetings will be held on April 7 at Healesville, Traralgon and Ballarat (Cup) Greyhound Racing Clubs.
GRV Chair Peita Duncan said the cause is close to many in the greyhound racing community.
“GRV is once again proud to be supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal – Neil’s Cruise For the Kids.
“Our involvement and fundraising efforts for Neil’s Cruise For The Kids is a highlight every year and gives our sport a sense of pride. We can’t wait to set sail down the Yarra River again in 2023.
“The GRV family have the heart of a champion when it comes to helping the community we live and race in, and helping those in need. So many people within Victoria, and our own racing community have needed the world-leading medical care at the Royal Children’s Hospital and we are deeply committed to continuing to support and be involved in a wonderful initiative created by Neil Mitchell and 3AW many years ago.
“So it’s time to dig deep to support us on Neil’s Cruise and show Victoria just how big our heart is. A donation, no matter how big or small will really help. Our goal this year is to surpass our cruise total from last year of $41,183.
“Our total appeal fundraising efforts last year for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal exceeded $126,000,” Ms Duncan said.
