Muswellbrook Race Club is located at Skellatar Park, 15 Racecourse Rd, Muswellbrook NSW 2333 and is approximately 250km north of Sydney.
Locals will know the Muswellbrook Race Club is located 2.5km west of the city centre and to get there you can simply make your way to the course via car. Taxi is the best option if you’d rather not drive to the track yourself and there’s plenty of local buses to transport you around the small country town.
If you’re making your way to Muswellbrook from the city of Sydney, the trip will take you approximately 3 hours via Car. To get there make your way north on the M1, before exiting onto the New England Highway. If you’d rather not drive to Muswellbrook, Sydney Central Station provides buses and trains everyday of the week, so rest assured you can use public transportation to make your way to the country course.
You might have to wait for the next day for a return trip, which means you might need utilise some of the local accommodation for an overnight stay.

Muswellbrook Racecourse is a turf course with a circumference of 2010m with a home straight 400m long.
It’s quite a large course for country racing meaning it only has one chute starting position from the 1000m mark, while all other starting positions leave jockeys needing to circumnavigate their respective mounts on multiple turns throughout the Muswellbrook track before hitting the home straight.

Raced over the 1500m and now worth a share of $150,000 the Muswellbrook Cup is widely considered the major racing event each year at the Muswellbrook racecourse.
It’s now made even more intriguing with the winner booking a golden ticket to The Big Dance on the first Tuesday of November. The latest winner of the race was Commando Hunt in 2023.
