The $70,000 Murwillumbah Cup (1550m) headlines the action at the Tweed River Jockey Club on Friday afternoon, with a competitive eight-part program set for decision. The track is rated a Heavy 10 at the time of acceptances, but with sunny skies forecast on Wednesday and Thursday, the track should be upgraded into the Soft range on Friday morning. The rail is in its true position the entire way around, with racing scheduled to get underway at 12:45pm local time.

Cranky Harry was a dominant winner two starts back in Highway company at Randwick on July 13. The five-year-old has since been unplaced at the Sunshine Coast on August 10, although he was doing his best work late in a slowly run affair behind Cunnamulla Fella. If Jake Bayliss can get Cranky Harry to the front, like he was in his previous victory, the Matthew Dunn-trained gelding should wind up with a free ticket to the Big Dance (1600m) on the first Tuesday of November.

Bravely returns after a 124-day spell and brings some quality form to this BM58 contest. The son of Zoustar was tried in Listed company at the end of last campaign, but he bombed the start at Eagle Farm on April 20 and never got a look in. Thanks to the 4kg claim of apprentice jockey Claire Ramsbotham, Bravely appears well weighted as he looks to make amends in this winnable first-up assignment.

Climactic got too far back at Doomben on August 3 and should have finished much closer than 2.5 lengths away. Gate two allows Jake Bayliss to take closer order, and provided Climactic can utilise his blistering finish, this guy should be closing best.
