Racing in South Australia heads to Murray Bridge on Saturday afternoon for a nine-race card kicking off at 12:02pm ACST. Showers are forecast for the region on Friday, so we expect to be on a Soft 5 or 6 come raceday, despite the deck coming up a Good 4 during the week. The rail sticks to the true position from the 1000m to the winning post and comes out 3m the remainder.
Best Bet at Murray Bridge – Sing For Peace
Sing For Peace can be a hard galloper to catch, but he has found a race where he should just bolt in. The five-year-old gelding is rock-hard fit stepping up to the 2500m, and with a few trials under his belt since his fourth-placing at Swan Hill on June 11, he will be cherry ripe. He has three wins and a minor placing from five runs on Soft tracks, and despite notoriously hitting a flat spot when under pressure, Sing For Peace has been known to put away better fields than this. Look for Todd Pannell to make this a true staying test for his rivals.

Next Best at Murray Bridge – Pontedera
Michael Hickmott’s Pontedera is yet to miss the top three in three goes at the 1400m and brings some decent form lines into a race like this. Last start at Morphettville, he got the better of the in-form Metro Legend but found one better late, while Turf Decision managed to get his head down in time to deny Pontedera here on July 1. He has a swift turn of foot, and if Todd Pannell has him in clear air, he looks the one they need to beat.

Best Value at Murray Bridge – Fly The Line
Fly The Line was a smart winner at the Murray Bridge 900m on July 12 and can go on with the job as she steps into Saturday grade. The Dedline mare was forced to travel three wide with no cover up on speed and still had the audacity to win. She draws barrier five under Anna Jordsjo this weekend and looks set to land in the one-one spot upon settling. The 1000m second-up looks perfect, and with the sit on the leaders, Fly The Line can bring up another win.
