Racing in South Australia heads to Murray Bridge on Saturday afternoon for a competitive nine-race meeting. Despite the track coming up a Good 3 at the time of acceptances, it should be back at a Good 4 to ensure there is enough give in the track with a warm day forecast on Saturday. The rail returns to its true position, with action set to commence at 12:27pm AEDT.
Best Bet at Murray Bridge: La Defense
La Defense is chasing a fourth straight win this campaign, and there does not look to be any reason why he cannot make it happen. The five-year-old gelding continues to give his rivals a big start, coming from the rear of the field and blousing his opponents in impressive fashion. This is his first look at Murray Bridge, but considering the length of the straight at the Bridge, La Defense should have no issues building through his gears and thundering over the top of his rivals once again.

Next Best at Murray Bridge: Apache Star
The Phillip Stokes-trained Apache Star has strung together some smart performances so far in three runs this campaign. After a narrow second first-up at Morphettville, the six-year-old claimed smart victories in Adelaide and Gawler when leading the field up with relative ease and breaking his rivals’ hearts over 1600m and then 1700m. He steps back to the mile on Saturday, and from barrier two, he should have no issues finding the front and dictating terms throughout under Kayla Crowther. With fitness and a handy draw on his side, Apache Star should prove too hard to run down.

Best Value at Murray Bridge: Turf Decision
Although he did not run a drum in his only start over the 1000m, this son of Turffontein was a smart first-up winner over 1200m at Naracoorte last campaign. Back from a six-month spell, he is a two-time winner when resuming and also has two wins to his name at Murray Bridge. The five-year-old is a genuine backmarker who needs a decent tempo out in front, and he looks to get just that. Kayla Crowther will have Turf Decision towards the rear, and with a strong finishing burst, he can get the better of this lot.
Best Value
Race 7 – #3 Turf Decision (11)
5yo Gelding | T: Jeff Searle | J: Kayla Crowther (57kg)
